HEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!
There are so many lifts to choose from I just cant decide.
I have a 91 IFS and will be using BFG 33" MT's. I want decent articulation.Most of my wheeling is recreational forrest trails and desert,I dont do rock crawling or mud.
So guys,which is the best or best for the $$$??
Which ones work well and which ones dont??
What should I stay away from??
Opinions,experiances welcome!

i got my superlift 4" lift off of ebay for 800 shipped. the only problems i've had is breaking the support on my panhard drop bracket twice.

Thats exactly what I DONT want!
I want the equipment to be reliable.I dont really do any extreme stuff with the truck (I must be getting old LOL) but dont want it to break on the trail.

I like what Ive seen with the Total Chaos stuff but its sooooooooo darn pricey!!
My objective is increased tire clearance so I can go with a 33" tire for more ground clearance and Id prefer to not do a body lift.

Go with the procomp stage 2. Have been running that on my '86 for 8 years no problems.I believe superlift is basically the same lift. BTW:You don't have a panhard on your p.u.

I'm running 32"s on my '92 using B.J. spacers and 1-1/2" rear shackles, check my sig.

reliability and cost go hand and foot, as they say you get what you pay for. If you ever get a chance to compare the fabrication work of their stuff to others, you'll know what I mean.

I just dont want a race setup if I dont race,but by the same token,I dont want a budget setup thats going to fall apart.There must be a happy medium.

Go with the Superlift. People seem to be pleased with that setup. You can also find them new and fairly expensive all the time on ebay.

But if you got the money go with the Total Chaos. You will get much more articulation than you would from the other 4" lifts.

I guess my next question is....is the TC lift THAT much better at more than double the cost of the ProComp or Superlift?
If I need to quit being a cheap bastd and spend the $$$ just say so. LOL

Stay away from Rancho. It sucks. I hate it. It's taken lots of work to get mine setup right, and it still needs more work. Go with a trailmaster or superlift 4" and you'll be set.

The TC lift is much better but will end up being a lot more. But if your just looking for a quality lift that will allow you to fit 33's than the Superlift will work perfectly.

Is your Rancho lift the diff drop one or the one that has replacement upper control arms?

if u just wanna put it on and never worry aobut it go with total chaos, not only does it lift but it adds more travel, if u have the money go with it.

I'm running the Superlift kit and have been very pleased thus far. I like the fact that it uses all new crossmembers instead of brackets like the other kits do. No it doesn't increase travel, but I am pleased with how it performs.

You are talking about two different types of setups...I really do not think you can compare the TC kit to the ProComp...

In my opinion it sounds like you would just like some additional ground clearance, the ProComp should suit that fine...

If you want to go fast, or spend time in Glamis and want to run in the sand drags, go with the TC kit.

Both. It's got a diff drop, upper control arms, and larger torsion bars. I guess the lift isn't 'that' bad... they just didn't address the lower control arms at all. When I get my bills paid off again, I'm going to look into having some custom LCA drop brackets fabricated for it.
