Angry Rust!!!!!!

Well, today brought the mounting of my new tires (p265/75/15 Courser a/t's) on Runnincleans factory yota aluminums.... and, I gave into temptation and threw my running boards across the street.
What do you suppose I found under the boards??? RUST!!! I have RUST fella's. Oh, its not as bad as say........ a 1974 chevy luv. (remember those??? HAHAHA-HAH!!) but none the less, rust. I have to get the bottom of my rig sand blasted and repaired. This is a pretty &%$@ clean rig, so to see the rust, I was pretty surprised. A free word of advice to all in "the rust belt" w/ running boards that youve been thinking on dumping...... GET RID OF 'EM!!!!!
Now maybe a good time to give more serious thought to de-chroming my rig and two-toning it.... You know, like the nice clean 3rd gens??? It's toyota gold, been thinking about painting bushwhackers a rootbeer color, and doing the bottom 2.5 in. of the rig the same color.... paint the bumpers rootbeer.......
What you folks think? Any ideas on color combo's??

Mike, youre correct sir!! It's rusting every where plastic covered up the metal.... I guess you just cant flush all the crap outta there. Where I live, the road commision believes in clearing the roads w/ salt. They save the plow trucks for the parades!!!

Same road crew here. Salt only. You walk outside on any given day and you can almost taste it in the air.

I ditched my RB's a long time ago when I put the Smittybilt nerfs on. I had some rust repaired in October. Top of my tailgate had some surface rust, but the bad area was UNDER the rear doors. Both sides. Driver side had a hole the size of my hand and the passenger side was just starting to break through. They made a new metal piece, cut out the old, welded the new in, etc. Super job. I just came across the bill today actually - $375.00.

I feel your pain!!

Fiberglass front fender replacements are a great way to go IMO and I will do the same when the time comes.

I've been looking for fiberglass REAR fender replacements, but haven't had any luck.
