Replacing Clutch While Replacing Engine

Replacing Clutch While Replacing Engine
Hello,
240k mile motor developed a rod knock. Buying a JDM motor to replace it. Still have original clutch. Obviously, will replace that at the same time. Will I need to remove tranny to replace the clutch, if the motor is removed? Or do you only need to remove the tranny for a clutch replacement if the motor is in place?
Also, any tips on what clutch to buy? Toyota OEM? I am not a serious off-road guy. Just need 4WD to get to the river to go fishing.
Thanks!
