Rear Window K.I.A.

Hey guys and gals, need some help here. After a hard run on the beach with the top off, my 86 'Runner's rear window crapped out on me. Yes I did put the top back on and I do have all the bolts back in including the grounding bolt. I can hear the relay clicking but nothing else happens. I appreciate any help or advice. Thanks, Todd

Can you hear the motor turning and perhaps a chunking sound?

Check the exposed wiring between the body and the tailgate. That's a common place for corrosion. Should be on the driver's side, just in front of the bumper.

No, the motor is not making any noise or turning. I'm not getting any power to the motor either, just the clicking of the relay. Is there a fuse anywhere that could be blown? During the same trip my Flex a lite blew a fuse. This is getting frustrating. Thanks for the advice though.

Parts

If it is your relay you would be looking at $193.46. If you have the "lock" switch that has been known to go bad then it would be $50.73. Finally, the switch that I think it is for the regulator which would also explain why you aren't getting power to it is $50.73. If you would like to get any from me make sure you know exactly which one it is. All the above parTs would be special order and are electrical, thus can't be returned for refund after ordering.

Thanks for all the help guys, I'm thinking it's the relay. My friend is going to let me swap his relay into mine and see if that solves the problem. Thanks again,
Todd
