Rear Shocks

I was just wondering, since I can't afford Downey HD coils to fix my 4Runner's ass sag, I saw some shocks that supposedly would provide maybe 1 inch of lift. I think they were Rancho RS5000 or something. Would these be able to give a 4Runner an inch of lift, and would it last? Or is it just not a good option? Thanks a lot, I would like to at least lessen the sag somehow.

Only air shocks can give you any lift. You can do two very inexpensive things to get rid of the sag.
1) At most off road shops you can get at coil doughnut for a 1" lift or 2) coil spring spacers.

About $20 for either one of these and they will give you just enough lift to eliminate the sag.

Well..I got some spacers, they were tons of fun to install, only took a couple hours.. lol, anyway, it looks good, I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

I really can't tell, but it almost seems to handle a little better.

You have to admit that is was a lot cheaper than springs! The tough part is getting the suspension to separate far enough to get the spacer it. That usually means undoing shocks and often the control arms.

Yes, definately cheaper, it cost me about $15. Getting the springs to separate was very dificult. I had it jacked up as high as I could before the back tires came off the ground and with the help of a 2x2 (was a 2x6, I had to trim it) I got the coils spread. I was about to undo the shocks though.
