Rear Shock Bolt Thread Pitch?

Does anyone know what the lower bolt that attaches the rear shocks of a 1997 4runner thread pitch is? I need to get 12mmx30mm bolts, but I need to know if it's a 1.75, 1.5, or 1.25 thread pitch, whatever that means. Does anyone know? I'm needing this, because the rear limiting straps require a longer bolt to clear the lower edge of the shock.

OEM Bolt...

Take the bolt that you took out to a bolt supply place in your town, look it up in the yellow pages, and tell them that you need a longer one with the same pitch. They should be able to match it up and get you the one you need.

Hope this helps.

That's what I'm trying to prevent doing. I don't want to have to take the bolt out. I'm lazy!

I have a repair manual at home for the 96-02s that might have a detail of the shocks and the specific kind of bolts, but like I said...it is at home. Sorry...

Maybe you could find a detail of the shock assembly online somewhere by doing a search?

Hope you get it figured out!

Chris, I think it is a 1.25 but don't quote me on that.
You could get a metric thead gage at the store and match it up.
On most foreign cars the 1.25 is a coarse and 1.5 is a fine.
Maybe someone else can verify this.

Well, I went to the store today to buy the bolts and I discovered that it is indeed a 1.25 pitch! Thanks MTL_4Runner!
