Rear Bumper/Hitch
Alright I have been in need of a new rear bumper that has a hitch on it for a long time! I want something like this...

Anyone know where I can get something like that... that is on the cheaper side? Can be used or anything... if you know a website shoot it out..
Thanks

For a pickup, you are looking for a Smittybilt TB80RH. I got mine locally from a 4WD shop and the price a few years ago was about $175 as I recall. I'd look around and compare prices. Summit Racing used to sell them and I'm sure 4Wheel Parts sells Smitty stuff, too.
The photo you show is the one for the 4Runner (which I guess you have based on your user name). The receiver is above the tubes, it's below the tubes on the trucks. The model is TB86RH for the rear tube Smittybilt with receiver. I do know that the tube bumper for the 4Runner is more expensive.

I found them on the net for $169 + shipping. (the Smittybuilt w/ hitch, and there is another cheaper lookalike out there too)
They go on ebay every now and then, a couple have gone for under 100, but usually they go more than 169! (bonehedz!)
I got this one (arrived yesterday) for $40! Took a long time playing the eBay game...
(no, the straps are not the latest hot mount setup, just trial fitting prior to cutting out the rear pan for the brackets...)

Cool thanks... I'll have to check ebay... but the hard thing to find is one that fits the 1st generations on there... because the older pickups and 4Runners won't work for each other right?
Ian
Oh and what did you search for?
Just Smittybilt bumper on ebay?

yeah, the '84-89 pickup and 4Runners will work for each other. (may be a difference in the brackets but I don't think so.) It's after that they don't.

The TB80-RH rear bumper fits all pickups from '79 thru '95.
The TB86-RH (for '84-'89 4Runner) might fit '79-'95 pickups, too, but the license plate will be completely obscured by the receiver.
What the Smittybilts look like.
Pickups (TB80RH):

4Runner (TB86RH):

The only problem using the one for pickups on the 4Runner is that the departure angle is reduced because the 2" receiver is hanging below the bumper rather than mounted above.

How in the world do you get it up into the frame rails? They look like they would go inside the "C" shaped rails, but no way would that tilt/slide up in there.

Use the search function on ebay, I used "tube bumper". The one I got was from "Fey/Westen" and got it for $50 shipped with the mounting brackets. The Fey p/n is 43000 which is universal (http://www.feyautomotive.com/ProdPage/fey_quadtube.html), it is the mounting bracket that is different. So if you find one from a Jeep it will still work just need to order the correct bracket.
