Well in spite of the cold I went out and cut my airbox. I started to just cut a round hole but extended it just a bit. It does run alot better, alot more power during acceleration. I may just leave it like that and spend the money for a K&N filter on something else.

I have seen guys cut the whole bottom piece off teh airbox, you could try it. But its pretty much destorying the airbox.

well I didn't want to destroy the box, it seems I'll be using it a little longer. I think I'll just get a K&N replacement filter for the airbox and see how it does.

Congrats. your airbox now looks exactly like mine. Look for a K&N on ebay. Here is a search you can use ebay K&N

Cool, thanks for the link PirateFins. Did you put that elbow tube from the side of the box back or did you leave it off? I put mine back but not at first.

No my box is a little different than yours. The place you cut out is where my elbow tube was located, it took its air from behind the headlight. Putting yours back in is fine, in fact it will still help draw air from outside instead of from the hot motor.

How long do those K&N filters last? I want to know 'cause a dude on ebay has one cheap but it's used.
