Questions about painting the tail pipe?

Has anyone ever used grill paint (you know, the stuff you use to paint your gas grill on the patio) to paint the tail pipe. If so, has it worked good and not flaked off after four days of sitting in traffic? I'm just trying to find a cheap and quick fix for my ugly tail pipe until I can afford to buy a nice chrome pipe cover. Thanks

its a little dark out right now and so the pic will look washed out and not black. but really guys, the stock tail pipe will have a reddish rust color and using that black paint will make it look like that black, bbq grill color. just use your imagination

that said, ill try to rmember to take a pic for you guys :p

How hot do you think the tail pipe gets? I was just searching on line for some BBQ paints and found some that are rated to withstand 475 degrees celcius (who knows what that is in Fahrenheit). Think I might give one a shot and see what happens.
