Question for people running steel wheels on a 3rd gen.
What did you use for lug nuts? I'm getting some black stamped steel wheels for use off road and in winter and I assume the lugs nuts for my 16" factory alloy wheels won't work.

Mine came with factory steelies. They were just steel lugs I believe. But when I switched to alloys I had to get the lugs for the alloys. Just don't do what I did and buy them from the factory. Call ALL your local junkyards and you should find the lugs pretty cheap.

My Tech1 Rock Crawlers came with lug nuts. I think the issue is putting the different metals in contact with each other, will cause rust to occur on the contact surface. The steel lugnuts are pretty cheap if you need to order them online, I think Tom at Trail Carnage has some available, black ones.

Nice that the Rockcrawlers came with lug nuts.
I'm been looking at these wheels online and it looks like all these are identical -
American Racing - 767
US Wheel - Model 84
Tech 1 Rockcrawler
I wonder who really makes them??
I guess I should just shop these for price with shipping and lug nuts included if I can...

They are a bit different. The Tech1's that I have are the only ones with out the "Pride" strip around the outer edge of the rim, which looks a little cheesy. I got mine from 4wheelparts.com, a package deal, mounted with BFG MT's, free shipping, for 1057.00. 4wheel parts offers free shipping every couple of weeks for a weekend or so, so just keep your eye on there site. I saved alot of coin not having to pay to ship a pallet of four rims and tires.

Thanks for the help. I don't care for the paint stripes either. I sent 4WP an email to find out what the cost for the wheels would be with shipping and lug nuts. They don't show the prices for a 16 X 7 on the website.
The prices for the US wheel 84 or American 767 are pretty cheap from Summit and the shipping is free but I'd need to buy lug nuts...

I disagree. Mine from 4wheelparts, that I ordered a month ago, came with lug nuts. They are most likely generic steel nuts, but I was not charged seperately for them on the invoice, came with chrome center caps as well, which I opted not to install.

We'll see what they say when I get an answer back.
The lug nuts and center caps are about $50 worth of stuff if you have to order them...
