question about 22re.

question about 22re.

yesterday when looking under the hood of my 95 truck with the 22re i noticed on top of the engine where the head bolts are there is a spot on the fron left and right rear of the head where there is empty bolt holes. there threaded and all but no bolt is in them? what gos there? am i missing something? thanks for any help.

Do you have engine hooks on the motor? I think that's where they go. If there are no hooks, I would be willing to bet that's what you're missing. If not, I wouldn't worry.....I think just about every motor has a few empty threaded holes.

Sound like the accessory bolt holes on the top of the valve cover... not all of them are used sometimes..

Yea, mine has several holes in the valve cover. I leave a spair bolt in one of them...

The 95's especially had more holes then previous valve covers
(should be 9), they often are not all used.

thank you guys...yes there on top of the valve cover. i did not think anything of it but thought id make sure.
what could i put there anyway? and its weird toyota did not put bolts in there to close them off?

I use those bolt holes to ground out my nology plug wires.
