Hello,
THis may sound stupid...
I removed all the lug nuts and have my 96 4runner jacked up, now, I can't pull the wheel/tire off!

Any tips?
Amyone else have this problem?

Pull the crap out of it
It's just seized on there with rust and whatnot.
Get a deadblow hammer or something and hit the tire around the entire radius to loosen it up, then tug and it should pop off.

 

Yeah...just beat the livin mess out of it...evenly that is and it should come off.

Like Scofco said BFH (Big freaking hammer)!!!!! Bang around the tire not the rim and it will pop off. If you are confident in your jack stands (I'm not of mine), you could crawl under and give it a swift kick from behind, not recomended though.

 

I had the same problem. Do what they say. Pull like crazy!

 

there was a long thread about this before, and someone metioned loosen all lugs until there is a little gap(maybe 1/4") , get in and drive couple of feet and hit brakes,backup same thing until it loosen itself. This is not my idea and never tried it but it might work.

 

Give it a swift kick on the tire and it should loosen up. I had the very same problem when I had my stock steel rims. Keep us updated!

 

Take it to Meineke and have them check your brakes. It should be free...

 

Loosen the lugs and drive a few feet. It will break them loose, believe me I've done it before and it works pretty well.

 

This is a common problem, especially with vehicles with some miles on them. I usually remove all the lug nuts, except for one which I back off about half way. Then with the vehicle up on jack stands, I use a big rubber mallet to smack the tire (not the rim/wheel) while I turn it. It works best for me to stand with my back to the vehicle so I can get a cleaner shot at the tire. It may take quite a few hits, depending on how well it is seized, but it should break free all of a sudden ( this is why I leave one lug nut on ). Once you get the wheel off, I will clean around the center lip of the hub and the inner lip of the wheel to remove all rust and corrosion. I usually apply some never-seize before putting the wheel back on to prevent it from happening again.

I wouldn't recommend crawling under the vehicle while it is on jackstands to kick a tire loose.

Anything to prevent injury is always better.

 

I couldn't agree more, I have seen some pretty scary near misses, and sorry to say, a few bad outcomes with 'driveway' lift incidents. Too many people in a hurry, or just don't think anything bad will happen to them..........
