there is so a need for 4wd in florida, unless your a mall crawler. whenever i go hunting im usually glad i have 4wd. there are plenty of places to offroad at, and georgia and tellico in NC are fairly close. but since it is 2wd, i would do the supercharger and 99 springs with some all terrains or terragraplers, run what ya got!

as the others have said, I say it too, lock the rear and lift it a few inches and put some A/T's on it. Long travel would be awesome but big bucks. If you're worried about him getting stuck somewhere, set him up with a reciever hitch winch. the extra grand or so that 4x4's usually get should pay for your minor mods.
and quit bagging on this guy because he wants to set his son up with a rig. no need to hate b/c your old man didn't do it for you.

i agree, but i see the point of the other side to. if you didnt buy it, you didnt earn it, so you dont respect it. but this doesnt hold true for everyone!!

I appreciate all of the responses.
excuse while I go a little off topic --
There are a lot of values to be learned from busted knuckles and grease under your fingernails. I worked side by side with my dad on many projects like these, and I will do the same with my son. He has been begging for a project we can do together ever since I let my CJ-7 go. He will learn the value of a dollar, especially the one's he saves by doing his own work. There's no doubt that he will have respect for his ride as well. He will have too much of his own sweat into it not to.
But I agree with the lack of respect if it's just given to you. I see too much of that with some of his friends and their "store bought" rides.
I will continue to rely on the sage advice of those who have gone before me so I don't make the same mistakes.

where are you at in NW Florida? I've got a shop in Fort Walton Beach and can probably give you a hand with the install. I've also got access to a spring compressor and we can use the stall in my spray booth to do the lift.
I know you want to kick it with your son, so I won't be offended if you decline the offer. But I can give you guys a hand if you want it. Just about any Saturday would probably work.
shoot me a PM if you guys are interested. I've also put Cornfed and Revtek lifts on my Tacoma, my Tundra, my brother's Tacoma and a couple of friends' trucks and 4runners.

Mine is a 2wd if you didnt notice in my pic post. You can always go 4wd later which I plan on doing this winter. I thought about long travel but I dont really live near a place to do any prerunnin.

It's been said a thousand times... A mellow lift with a rear locker and some good tires will take a truck a lot of places... Like Rocko pointed out, you just have to remember it's NOT a 4wd. But if you wanna lift it, lift it! In your part of the country you probably don't need 4wd anyway, but I could imagine that there would be some situations where having a locker would save you. You know, if you wanna go crazy, you could always go long travel...

Anymore info or pics on this? I've been looking for a while, and this is the ONLY one I've seen. I've been wanting to go on some trails, but my 4runner is 2WD. I know a locker will make it pretty capable...but living in Chula Vista and seeing all the prerunners around here make me want to go this route. I eventually want to convert my 4runner into something very similar to this one.
