Question power windows

I just baught a '91 4runner 4 days ago. It only has 95000 miles on it and im very happy with it. My only problem is that when i baught it the back window swith was acting up. Now the backwindow works fine but none of the front windows or the sunroof work at all. It has a viper alarm that will roll the windows up when armed. If anyone has any ideas I would love to here them . Also where is the powerwindow relay located?

Your window modules (they are separate modules from the Viper (DEI) brain) are either unplugged or smoked. I had problems with mine this past spring. They had to be sent to DEI to be fixed. PhxTRDRunner (Ralph) is in the stereo and alarm biz. He is going to sell me some of the window modules he uses. They seem to be much better than the DEI ones - thicker wires, less voltage drop, etc.

Drop him a PM, or maybe he'll post here about it. He has helped me sort things out.

I think i may just take out the viper or try and unhook it from the windows if it will save me the hassle then i can roll umm up my self but having no windows sucks.

When my modules were getting fixed, my windows did not roll up or down for about a week. It was a major PITA!!!!

The shop repaired them for free. Most stereo shops stuff those pieces up under the dash. I noticed that on the latest install they used big diodes in line with the modules. They must have been getting some voltage back through the units that was messing them up.

Have PhxTRDRunner quote you a price via PM. He'll even take Paypal.

EDIT: if you have one on your rear tailgate window like me, it is probably behind the driver side storage compartment.
