Power sunroof switch 3rd gen to 2nd gen Mod??

I've been rolling this around in my head ever since I trashed my 94 and got the 98. The 94 had a single rocker switch (no safety lock) to control tilt and open. It had one touch open/close which I really liked.
The 98 has two rocker switches, one for tilt, one for open. The Open/close has to be held and stops half way (read sucks).

Has anyone else thought of a 2nd gen switch swap? I'd like to add a diffrent switch up top like ECT or rear window.

Is the control of the 2nd gen in the switch like the auto windows or is there something else to it? I just think this would be a cool mod. I know many hate the "half stop" feature.

That's weird. I have to completely hold the switch on my 2nd Gen down the whole time while the moonroof opens. Mine does not tilt. And when closing, I also have to hit this "safety button" (along with the normal close button) in order for the moonroof to start sliding. However, it does not stop halfway like 3rd Gen's.

Mine is just like CTB's. No tilt, and there was a safety switch. A friend at work has a 95 with an aftermarket sunroof that had tilt so perhaps that is what you had?
