Is there a specific fuse to ONLY disable the power antenna on my 98 runner? TIA

ah yes. However, I want to utilize the antenna... just not the power mechanism of it going up and down.

just break the gears. sooner or later it will happen naturally anyway.

At first, mine grinded like hell but still worked. Then it went up or down when it wanted to. A few days later it stayed stuck in the up position.
If you wanna buy it just let me know. lol

the 'Tacoma whip mod' is what you probably want to do.

I just diconnected the blue wire to the power antenna and left it up. I can still listen to the radio, just not the grinding of the gears.

try throwing an inline switch on it. I did this for my 92's antenna. Just splice into the power wire for the antenna motor and run a switch in cab. Antenna up/down when you want. The great thing is that you still get good reception in the city with it down.

I did that in my last car, because the antenna would go up everytime I ejected a CD, which would turn the radio on. So at every CD change, the antenna would go up half way, then when I put the CD in, it'd go down again. It got annoying, so I spliced in a switch, as well.

I like this idea. No more winding motor everytime the radio/cd is turned on or off.
