Post your pics please
Just lifted the 4Runner right around Thanksgiving and I am wanting to regear it and put on some sweet rubber. I just want to see what I can look forward to and get an idea of what looks the best. I will say that I REALLY BADLY want to put on 35's but I am told they will rub like crazy. and if you have re geared your Runner let me know.
Thanks

Pic looks much better now... RE the tires, I've got 285's (~33's) on mine, and I think they're perfect. (see the link in my sig if you want pics) Going to 35's is no easy task, do a search and you'll find a few threads where guys have done it. To do it properly, you'll be looking at wheel spacers or rims with less backspacing, re-gearing, doing some trimming, and doing some major pounding with a BFH. If you wheel hard, you'd probably end up having to tub your fenders too.

35's require major trimming on only 2-3" of lift like you have.

If you don't wheel hard then you'll get away without the firewall tubbing but at the very least you'll have to trim the back corners of the front fenders.
Not to mention, a re-gear is necessary.

but I say just got with some 285's or 33x10.5's Remember that if you go with aftermarket rims try to stick as close as you can to the stock backspacing. I think stock is around 4.3 or something. It's somewhere on this site. Anything larger will rub the upper control arm.

i am going with the 285's for sure. I think i am doing BF Goodrich Mud Terrains KM2... I am getting 4:88's as well. I WANT SO BAD to put in a locker but thats another 1200 if not more. The tires alone are going to run me 1200 and I have no idea how much gears are going to cost plus the installation. if you know, help me out here.
