Is it possible to add A/C to a 85 truck ?
Would it possible to install A/C in a 85 4x4 truck? Truck has 22re engine. How costly would it be? Are there any aftermarket parts? Any help would be appreciated.

yes you could do it... some had it factory equipped... however the system it used was r-12 which is outdated and barely availabe as it hasnt been made in the US for several years... probbly best to set it up as r134a which is readily avaialbe and cheap.....

I bought the complete setup for my 86 from a wrecked parts truck for $150 about 3 years ago. Your truck is allready prewired for it. It's just a matter of unbolting off the doner, and reinstalling. It was actually really easy to do.
I used all new O-rings, had it sucked down, and oiled an recharged with R-134a. Works great since.

The only problem I had was in the idle up solinoid. My truck is carbed, and I got the setup from a efi model. i had to get that from another junkyard that had the part that attaches to the carb.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that your 88 should have the plugs under the dash there also.
