what is the point of the black things covering your headlights?

is it for looks? do they come off?

or don't you drive at nighttime?

never seen that...just wonderin.

Its funny how many folks on this board have never smoke headlight covers, theyve been around for a looooong time. Yes I take them off at night, I just like the looks, I'm in process of ordering a safari bar and some Hella 500's so I can keep them on all the time

I think they're more popular down here in the south, where you're less likely to get a ticket for having them on at nite. I think they look good if you're going for the totally blacked out look.

I had a set of carbon fiber headlight covers on my old 94 Ranger. I got pulled over the the afternoon and got a ticket about two weeks later.

Yeah, the cops arent bad around here about those and tint. The state troopers are the only ones that will get you and thats usually only after they've pulled you over for speeding. The only thing I ever got a ticket for was the real clear tailights with colored bulbs, all I had to do was put my stocks back on and ride over to the local precinct and they inspected and threw out the ticket.
