Pics of 97 4run to 99 4run headlight and airbox conversion

About the AFM / MAF. I checked your thread on U/Y (I'm not a member there) and it seems easy enough. Do you need the later year airbox or will that MAF fit my stock 97 airbox?
Another question for you and MTL4Runner. A little background: had a p0130 code, replaced the O2 sensor, CEL came back with a 171. Reset numerous times with no fix. Cleaned MAF & reset, CEL came back at idle. My AFM is reading 2088 ohms at 71.5 deg F. From the table below it seems it should read under 2000 ohms. Dynamic test seems ok. Info from the FSM:
AIRFLOW METER RESISTANCE TABLE
Temperature Ohms
-4 F (-20 C) ............................... 10,000-20,000
32 F (0 C) ..................................... 4000-7000
68 F (20 C) .................................... 2000-3000
104 F (40 C) .................................... 900-1300
140 F (60 C) ..................................... 400-700
176 F (80 C) ..................................... 200-400From your experience, is 100 ohms out of spec enough to be causing this code? It would appear so. My next debate is whether to change to the later model year AFM

Yes you do need the later year airbox and it can come from a tacoma or a 4runner because they are the same. If you get a used one it may or may not come with a MAF. If it doesnt you will need to buy a new one from toyota which is about $130. Also make sure it has the screws for the MAF. If not you can get them at home depot. The box bolts right up and hooks right into your stock intake hose. Make sure you repin your connector per my posting. Your code PO171 is most likely caused from your MAF. I have honestly never done an ohms test on a maf. Anytime a PO171 comes up 90% of the time is a bad MAF. Other times its been a random vac leak. You can either go to the new setup or if you want to stick with your current setup I have my used 97 MAF for sale here which is in good cond. If you need anymore help with the new box/maf setup, let me know!

Yeah I was thinking it should be reading closer to 1900 ohms or so by that chart. I double checked all the vacuum lines on the intake and everything looks intact.
Guess I'll look around for some parts.

Let me know if you need any help with your new setup when you get parts!

Well I only got them at that price because the buckets were damaged. Normally I think they are $75 each for good ones. They get new runners in all the time so check with him and tell him you are from yotatech so you will get a discount

Very interested in the mod you described at the beginning of the thread but I can't see any pics either here or the linked site. Would consider the mod but need to know everything I will need to get out of a 3rd gen flight 2 (99-02). I have been doing a sort of mod conversion on my 98, center console was the start and now working on the radio bezel, got a complete radio bezel with the wiring harness/connectors. Head lights are next when I can find a pair that arn't going to cost me $100. Been wanting to do the cold air ram but the kits for my year runner are very hard to find. Seems if I can find the 2nd flight MAF and connector, I could just go directly to the newer cold air intake. I could use the wire/pins set up for a conversion. Thanks

Thanks! I have the revtek 3" on the front plus another 3/8-1/2 spacer on top of the studs. In the rear I have front 97 land cruiser coils and shocks. The tires are 33x12.5/15 pro comp mud terrains and the rims are the pro comp 15X8 1069 alloys. We should get all the sac area people together and check out each others trucks. I actually never priced the supra maf's just because I figured no one would have one and that they were kind of expensive. I got my whole airbox setup for $50 so that was cheaper and easier

Got the later model airbox & MAF but forgot to get the screws. Do you remember what size they are? Going to re-pin now...
{edit] Re-pin was simple. Hex cap screws are 4mm x 20mm, picked up those & lock washers at HD for $1.00.
