Pics: 295's and 1" BL, + concern update

Here are some quick pics of the 265's vs. 295's and 1" RB/4Crawler body lift. (update at bottom)
how she looked afew days after i got her.

lift and 265's lift not settled

295's and 1" BL

as you might have read, i had some concerns with the way it was riding and rattles, well i found most of the rattles i had was due to my roof rack coming a little loose and the rear panels not being popped in all of the way. I took it for a flex test and drove on some rough dirt roads and i think that helped settle everything, as it is feeling just as solid now as it did before. (that or its my imagination....). I do think that 1" is almost not enough for the 295's. i am going to have to trim a little near the pinch weld and I definately hit the rear bumper when i stuff, couldnt even get the rear stuffed all of the way... is the rear bumper adjustable>? i dont particularly want to cut it because i am planning a rear bumper build and need the resale from it....

what do yall think?

For the rear, you should really cycle the suspension to see where the wheel will be hitting the bumper. Mine will hit the mud flaps, but, never the bumper, and I have 35's.

For the front, get an angle grinder and use a cut off wheel and cut it little by little, you can make it look very clean. I've never done it either, so Id want to wait for some people who have to chime in.

yeah i cycled it, i had to take the muflaps off, and the limited flair things on the bumper front and rear, trimmed the front bumper plastic a little under where the limited flair goes, and had to take one of the bolts out on the lower edge of the front flairs near the pinch weld on each side. the only thing is the rear bumper, it hits it pretty good. I need to get the rear straightened out as it will be untill at least dec untill i can start on the rear bumper.

KyleT, That looks a lot better. Im Glad you got everything with the body lift straightenend out. Your front bumper looks like it's hanging down more than 1''.

It will fit if you remove the hitch.

Did you get the adjustable panhard rod from Steve when you bought the lift kit? The rear bumper rub issue sounds like what happens when you don't have the new rod or drop bracket.

oh yeah, update, i had to adjust the way that it was sittinng on the body mounts tonight.

I did the lift by myself and didnt get it all lined back up right. so i had my bro help me out, we loosened all of the mounts, and wiggled the body a little, and it kinda thudded and sat right where it needed to be, tightened everyhting down nice and snug and went for a drive. it drives as it did before the body lift. the resonance vibration is gone and so are all of the rattles minus the one that I cannot for the life of me find that has been there since i got it....

still need to figure out the rear bumper.
I guess i can try to find 2 side pieces that have been trashed and cut them up and sell my virgin undamaged ones....

i need like 1/2" or so i think, if any more, not much.

where on the rear bumper is it hitting? mine slightly rubs on the mudflap where it bolts to the bumper inside the fenderwell. not enough to worry about...but i do want to change those bolts to flathead screws or something. once i get my custom bumper built..the mudflap/flare piece wont be an issue anymore. also i have a 1.5" BL..so that may account for a bit more clearance too...

oh..and if you want to try to stuff your full size spare..you could try cutting a bigger arc off the bottom lip of the bumper. i can fit an inflated 33" spare..but it doesnt sit properly against the X-member as the stocker spare did..so i just tighten it down with ratcheting tiedown straps. thats only when im campin and the trunk is stuffed. otherwise, on wheeling trips its in the trunk, and in the garage the rest of the time

EDIT: truck looks great btw those 295's look significantly bigger...
