So I ordered all the parts a couple weeks ago: tundra front coils (with out top out spacers) w/ OME N91S and OME 906's w/ N86's. And, after 5 hours of wrench today, its done. I got a solid 2" in the rear and more than 2" in the front, but that is with out an alignment. The ride is really nice. I've only driven it from Ft. Collins to Denver which is about 70 miles and it feels much more solid and stable. The hardest part of the install? The spring compressers were pretty scarey, and the rear shocks came out fairly easy, but taking the rear coils out was tuff. The axle has to come down pretty far the get the coils out. The high lift jack came in handy then. All in all, I'm pretty pleased. I would like to thank this forum, for, without it, I would have been as smart/stupid on spending the money and installing this lift.

Phase II: Tires 265/75/16
Phase III: TJM 17 front bumper.

Nice work, I think you'll want the top out spacer when you do the TJM. Also what about some 255/75/16's. I know after I lifted I thought for sure the 265's would do but I still had to get the 285's to make it look and work right.

 

Well see, I just dropped it off for an alignment. It looks as though it might be sitting a little higher in the front so I TJM might bring it down a little, especailly if the rear sags a little bit, which it should. As far as the tires, Im not sure yet. Im still saving my money so when I get enough money Ill make a decision then. Thanks for your input.

Well, if the alignment did level out the lift, I can't tell. The picture of the lift is taken on a slant though so that might scew the photo a little. And a question about the alignment. I brought it to Meineke and they spent about 3 hours on it. I got a copy of the print out and everything is within spec, how ever, it pulls to the right a little bit and the steering wheel is off center. They said that the tires might have something to do with it and they offered to rotate them to see if it would help. I looked at the tires and the front passenger side a quite a bit more worn than the front drivers side. Can that make that much of a difference?

Did you leave the conical bumpstops inside the rear coils?

I did the same lift over the weekend except I used downey 2" coils in the rear. I got about 2" in the back but less than 1/4" in the front. The car sits nice but I wanted the front a little higher, does anybody know if the front bumper on a 99' is capable of affecting it that much?

 

Less than a 1/4 inche? I got almost 2 inches. Did you get the right coils? I think the '99 bumper is the sames as mine so you should get the same amount of lift I would think. Do you know what part numbers you ordered? Pics?

actually I have no idea, I didn't have the money to get the right stuff so I bought 2006 TRD Tundra double cab shock/spring assemblies off a guy who installed coilovers on his. Everybody says that the 99' 4runners are an inch taller than the rest so maybe it was just high to begin with. On the bright side it rides very well and it sits level, I just expected it to sag slighltly.

 

That is true about being higher, I forgot about that. I guess as long as it sites level...

In response to your first post the spring compressors are scary. I have a friend that works at a tire shop so I used their wall mounted one. Also to lift up the back high enough to install the new springs, I dissconnected the shocks, sway bar, and track bar and lifted the rear up with a forklift.

 

Simon would you be able to post a pic of the lift on level ground when ever you get a chance? Also did you need the front 1" diff drop?

 

The 2006 coils might have somthing to do with it, normally people are using the 2000 to 2002 Tundra TRD coils...
