PC interface type OBDII and CAN Code scanner in ebay...

I was looking for a scanner for 96 4Runner, 2001 4Runner (and late model year, Honda, Acura, Benz and BMW....if possible)
Then, I found this in ebay, which can be used with laptop computer. I like it better than stand-alone as I can capture the screen, potential sw upgrade etc etc.

It sounds pretty good deal....... (if works as claimed).

Anyone have even used this type of ebay scanner device?

How about these?
I prefer sellers-within-States over international sellers.... even if price is a little higher...

I ordered one of these last week, it hasn't come in yet but I'll let you know when it does. I believe this has been discussed on here before...just search OBD and you will find it.

They sure have good prices, let us know how it goes. One with a USB connecter would be nice.

Yep, I've got one and used it with my laptop. Works great. You can get real time data too!

Got mine in the mail last night, cleared my EVAP code (P0440) and then spent another hour just playing with all the real time data! For less than the price of a tank of gas this is a must have tool for anyone who wrenches on their vehicle.

Great! Thank you for sharing your experience.
BTW, I believe it can not read a few critical safe related items such as airbag code etc, which is common for almost all of aftermarket code reader.

Other than airbag code, what else can it read?
Does it throw customer specific code on top of emission related items also, for example, customer specific transmission codes, engine iginition code etc etc etc.... ???

That I don't know, all the software and "instructions" were in chinese. I just downloaded some freeware and plugged it in. I'm gonna try to find some time this weekend to try all the different features and possibly get some more advanced software...I'll let ya know!

I bought mine from http://www.autoenginuity.com back when I did the 3.4 conversion. It is pricey, but it is also available in USB. I have used it on both the Yota, and my BMW. I have yet to investigate all that the software will do, but it seems pretty robust, and you can download free updates.

I've been very pleased with it, so far.
