Paint problems on Runner roof... (pics)

Got to finally handwash the truck for the 1st time since I bought it 3 months ago. As I got to washing the roof I noticed the a lot of faded paint.

What to do? My main concern is that this does not start to rust. I'm thinking that I should just slap some car wax to help protect whatever I've got left. I might consider to rattlecan some matching paint (do I have to primer?). Any suggestions?

I'm going to try to post some photos but I'm running into some difficulties...

Wow, thats pretty bad. Dont try painting it yet. Try using some polish and a orbital then put some wax on top. You might be able to eventually polish it out.

I'm playing around some of the pics, it's hard to keep it to the 42kb limit. I'll post again if I can make it better.

Isn't a 1994 at least galvanized? Long way to go until that will start to rust.

yea, i'd probably try to cut polish it, and then put a quality wax on.. won't rust for quite a while, but at least it will attempt to maintain whatever results you get from the cut polish.

definetely consider repainting it, and not just the roof.. it never matches properly, do the whole thing, easiest way is just choose a slightly darker colour and then you dont have to worry about door jams, etc..
