To paint or not to paint...
I just installed 2 new aftermarket fenders on my 1988 Toyota pickup. the rust was pretty bad. The new metal fenders appear to have been pretreated and I think they call it seasoned metal. It's black in color. If I'm not fussy with the way it looks, but want rust protection, should I paint them? Or can I leave it the way it looks and not have to worry about them rustin out?
TIA for anyone with suggestions.

Use some "spray can" undercoating and spray/coat the inside portion of the fender prior to installing it.
I'm not sure of the coating but it is less than primer and will start to break down and will rub off if you run your hands over it.
