Paint Damage

Well guys, my rig is no longer a virgin. She was ravaged by some careless driver while parking next to me. The rear fender flare / mud flap has a paint chip about the size of a quarter. Is there a touch up system that can cure this or do I have to fork out some bucks and repaint the whole part? With paint damage this size, I would assume using the dealership touchup paint would be messy.

If you do go the touchup paint route, get a female to do it for you. They always paint their toes and fingernails, so they have a lighter, more steady touch.

Dont touch it up. Well, touch it up for the time being, but you will need the whole panel repaired to look right.

Besides, the new touch up "pens" are really fine tipped, which might pose a problem for large areas of missing paint.

That is a bit too big for touch up. Since it's the flare, I' sure a body shop won't charge ya too much as it can be removed or masked off easily. My wife and I have our own touch up biz and we go to dealerships making the cars pretty. I know a paint chip that size can be made to look 'better', but if it were my own vehicle, I'd take it to a body shop. I'd leave the jerk who did that to my truck and nice thank you note...on his paint. bastids...
