Outer ring on Cv boot for 94 runner?

Outer ring on Cv boot for 94 runner?
I am going to buy this 1994 runner. The only mechanical issue is that the outer boot has lost the snap ring or whatever it is that holds it to the outer flange(?).
Anyway, the boot is fine. Of course there is little grease in the boot as it is gone
.
1. Can I buy just the ring and replace it without pulling the wheel and shaft?
2. Is it better to replace the shaft since I am in there?
