Ordered the Revtek 3'' yesterday...

and I don't think I can wait for it to come in til next tues, that's too long!! I'm so pumped about getting this! Now I can sit up there with the rest of you guys on 285's. I went to a local tire shop and asked about some used 285's. They had a set of 285/75/16 BFG AT/KO's with about 70% tread left. I know the guy that owns the place and they said I could have them for $100 mounted and balanced with trade in of my Dunlop's that are on the runner now. I think this is a pretty good deal even though I could get a set of Goodyear M/T's for $500 with about 450 miles on them. I dont have the money for that.
I know this has been asked again and again and again but the only tools I need will be jack, jack stands, basic wrenches, impact wrench and sockets, and coil spring compressor? Did someone say you can rent these from autozone or advance?

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to post plenty of pics!

The tools sound right. You may need some blocking, depends on how high your jack stands are. And yes you can get a compressor form Autozone.

I hope you ordered the diff drop kit too, for $25 it is a nice addition to any lift for our 3rd gens to prolong CV life.

I did my lift in my driveway alone in about 5 hours. An extra set of hands would have been helpful.

Good luck, make sure you post pics~!

YOU'LL NEED TO COMPRESS THE SPRINGS QUITE A BIT IN ORDER TO GET THE SPACERS IN. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET SOMEONE WITH A PRESS TYPE COMPRESSOR TO DO THEM. I TOOK THEM TO A LOCAL SHOP AND PAID THE GUY $20.00. JUST BY WATCHING I CAN'T IMAGINE DOING THEM WITH THE STYLE THAT AUTOZONE HAS.

I second above sounds like your covered. The Kit I got came with the Diff drops so I saved $$$, Since you have airtools that make compressing the spring alot easier. I could not imagine trying to do that by hand . Oh be sure to check Kit for all your parts prior to starting, Mine was shipped with missing bolts they FedEX me new one from Revtek seems they had a packing problem from the factory. Took me a friend maybe 2 1/2 and that included installing new rotor and pads on the front too.
now get to it !!

Just got back from a local 4x4 shop and they said that they have the kit in stock. I didnt go to them cause they are always more expensive but today I was telling the guy how I got it for 325 shipped and he was like "Oh, I woulda sold it to you for that." So now I have to wait till tues knowing that there is a kit in my town that i could have installed this wkend. Oh well, maybe I'll learn some patience.

After the 4x4 place I went and picked up one of the 285s and took some pics of it next to my runner to see kinda what it will look like. I'll post a pic later tonight.
