IMHO anything with tires that big (that's a street/trail purpose vehicle) is just that... a TOY. A local guy has a F250 on 49" IROKS, and trust me... it's ALL for show..

i ran a set of TSL radials for a couple years. 33x10.50's. awesome tire offroad. took my mostly stock 4runner everywhere i wanted it to go.

yea they wore down quicker than street tires would, but i didnt notice anything crazy. i adjusted my driving style to prevent too much wear and tear. on the highway they were damn loud. as long as i kept them balanced and rotated i didn't have much of a problem with vibrations.

don't think i'd do it again as i see much more pavement time than i used to. and i think i paid about $100 a tire, very cheap if you ask me.

Pretty much what people have said already, if you are going to be doing LOTS of offroading swampers are popular. If you take them on the road, they practically melt away.
A tire that never gets any attention, that I have had in the past that makes for both pretty decent on and offroad useability and decent price are Goodyear Workhorse Exrta Grips. Here is a link for them:

I got an easy 62k out of my set. That isn't a typo. 62,000 miles with no problems. The only knock I had against them was at highway speeds they had an odd feel to them going into turns like they preferred going straight. Otherwise, jump on the popularity boat and get a set of Wrangler MT/Rs. I love mine, but they are more expensive.

i prefer the road characteristics of my bias 36" TSL's to my radial 33" BFG's. They ride smoother, and i like the hum of my tires. Ill never buy anything that doesnt say "Interco" on the sidewall again

I dont have personal experience with the trXus M/T's, but know a couple people who run them, and they like them. They are still just an MT, but they handle good on road and in rain, and they wear well.
