I am pretty sure the 882s are made for the taco. They are a much stiffer spring

www.wheelersoffroad.com

***from wheelers--> PLEASE NOTE THE 882 COIL SET IS ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR DOUBLE CAB TACOMAS OR V6 EXTRA CABS RUNNING A WINCH AND BULLBAR.

Id think the 882's would be more suited for a heavier 4runner.

I was expecting to find the 882's under Tundra, but they werent there. Maybe an email to ARB is in order??

I don't think that is necessary, it's been covered a few times already (in emails from ARB)....they do fit.

Here OME882s are listed for both 4runners and Tacos:
http://www.xtremeoff-road.com/store/...4d34899ab72d1f
http://www.cruiseroutfitters.com/sus_4runner_gen3.html

Quite a few people have tried them on 4runners both to get more lift and for additional front end weight and the general concensus was that the other two options I mentioned above seemed to be the preferred methods for the result people were after mainly due to the sagging issue. The 880, 881 and 882 are NOT different spring rates, only different initial heights.

It was covered in many threads including this one:

So should I just switch to the Tundra TRD coils then? Any problem with me keeping my OME shocks and using those springs on them?

It depends, what coils are you running in the rear? You will gain 1.75" lift over stock with just the Tundra coils and 2.25" if you also use the spacer.

Based on the recommendations from this forum, I went ahead and ordered the full Tundra/OME setup for my 4Runner.

I am aware that they fit, A freind of mine has them on his 95.... I just dont see what they were "designed" for and am curious, or maybe they are discontinued.

882's are for the prado and are not marketed for US use.

and for comparison the spring rates on 880-882 are 500. The 884-885's for 4th gen and 05+ tacos are 590, and 886's are 660.
