ome run3/1.5" adapters 33s still rub

So I have had an one run3 since about Aug 2008 and I finally got some 33s on my truck. I am also running 1.5" hub adapter so at full turn I do not rub the frame. I have trimmed the fender flares out to the pinch weld and folded the pinch weld over. When turning and the suspension compresses it still rubs. i have gathered that i also need a 2" BL. Is this right? What lift should i Look at and can a friend and I install it in the garage or should I pay $350 to have it installed?

I'm not exactly sure what a "run3" is. What springs do you have exactly? I didn't have any real problems running 881/890 coils front/rear with 285/75R16s once I cut the Limited flares back and pounded the pinch weld *very* flat.

I'd bet that your 1.5" wheel spacer is causing the problem. Did you rub on the firewall/flare area before you installed the wheel spacers?

It is the toytec lift number. And actually no I installed the adapters before the tires. I will pull them off and see if I still rub. But I like the stance with the adapters so in the long run I want to leave them on.

I have the same problem, except I am only running 265/75/16s. I have the 3" OME lift (881, 890), and 1-1/4" spidertrax spacers, and I rub on the front flares at almost full lock, but I rub on the rear of the tire, not the front. I always thought I shouldnt have issues running 265s with the lift, but apparently i do.

I have the 2" BL sitting around...I plan on putting it on pretty soon. I would gather a few friends and do it yourself. You just need a few stands/jacks.

edit: I would look at 4crawler's web site, or search for the daystar body lift kit. These two are the most popular for 3rd gens.

Hmm rubbing with 265s that is what I went from and didn't rub at all without trimming the fender well. It must be the adapters.

It's the adapters, they change the geometry of when you turn so your more likely to hit things like your frame or fenders

Yeah, those spacers are thick (1.5") too. You could try a smaller size like 1" or 1.25". Even if you really pound on your firewall, you're going to rub a little with most 33s. A 1" body lift will help get rid of most of the rubbing, but a 2" BL is overkill.

I'm not sure why you some of you guys are still rubbing with a lift and 265/75s. I used to wheel mine bone stock with 265/75s and I could never get them to rub. Weird.

Were you running spacers? I still have the flares on, so that could be the reason, but other than that I am still confused by it.

and the 2" BL goes on after the 285s, in case you were wondering.

p.s. sorry for the thread hijack

I ran 285/75/16 on 3" of lift with 2" body and never had any issues rubbing but then again I also "massaged" the pinch weld quite a bit.

Better wheel backspacing, pinch weld pounding, fender trimming and a body lift are options to stop the rub bub.

I wasn't running any wheel spacers when I had stock suspension and 265/75s. That's probably why I didn't rub. I didn't rub when I had 285s and a 1" BL either, but I also "massaged the pinch weld quite a bit" like wabbit.

I'm running Yokohama AT/S, 265/75-16. They are taller than most 265/75. They only rubbed a little, fronts would fully stuff and hit the inner fender on top. Since I have added Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers. They still rub up top but now they rub along the back side of the inner fender when turning and stuffing. (wheel spacers, or less backspacing, will cause the wheel to have a larger arc when turning causing the tire to come closer to the inner fender)
