Oil Pressure Gauge

Hi i have a 1989 4runner with the 2.4L and i want to put in a sunpro oil pressure gauge but dont know were i would hook the oil line up to could someone help me if they hooked one in before thanks

Never messed with a 2.4 litre but look on the side of the block. I think normally on the oil filter side. Its a golf ball size part that screws into the block. It has a wire coming out of it that ends up going to your guage in the dash. I think this is all correct. I double checked in my Chilton manual but it doesnt help. Good luck. Blue

Like the other fella said, the location of the idiot light sending unit is on the passenger side of the block. It's near the oil filter.

You can simply remove that sending unit and install the fittings supplied with the gauge into the hole. The idiot light will now be dead.

If you want to keep the idiot light, you've got to go to a hardware store and pick up a t-fitting that will thread into the block. Then you install the idiot light sending unit on one arm of the t, and the gauge line or sending unit on the other arm.

There's also another port that can be used behind the front pass side motor mount.

there should be like 2 extra ports by the oil fliter. thats how it is on my v6

That's how I did it on my 2.4 ,used a tee.

I didnt do the T becuase u i didnt really think my siwtch i took out worked neway but i got it in the one by the motor mount next to the oil filter on the bottom ill take some pics and show you the mounting of the oil pressure and the volt gauge i think for a cheap way of doing it it looks really good but thanks alot for all the help
