OEM valves and seals

When replacing these, should they all be OEM? I am pricing OEM as more then $9 per seal. Where I can get them from BAP\GEON for only $1.40 per seal.

Almost half of what the other dealers want. What about shipping?

What about head gaskets? and other seals and gaskets I will need for the rebuild?

Does the dealer replace head bolts? I think the Haynes repair manual claimed you should reuse them.

I don't think reusing head bolts is a good idea. If they are stretched out (likely at this point) you will probably blow a headgasket in the very near future and have to do this all over again.

While I have little experience with Toyota gaskets, my experience from working on other makes is that the OEM seals are almost always superior.

Bottom line: spend the extra money, do the job right the first time, it will save you headaches and money in the long run.

Vin

Send me your VIN and I will quote you whatever you need or want for your vehicle. This will just ensure we are on the same page.

On shipping, I try to stick to $6.00 if the package isn't over 3 or 4 lbs. That is shipped UPS ground and would probably reach you within a day since you are in Texas. All packages over $300 shipping is on me. Send me that VIN and we can get started.

I actually can't get you that info right now, but I can tell you this:
4Runner
3.0L V6
4x4
Limited Edition
Transmision cooler
Tow Package

That should tell you just about everything you need to know and then some. If you still need the VIN, then I will have to get that tonight, but I could realy use the prices today.

I will always use OEM stuff when it comes to seals. I will never re-use head bolts even if the manual says its ok.

When I got my Celica's top end rebuilt, I went all OEM Toyota except I went with ARP head studs, since they are stronger.
