Odd auto window malfunction
I suspect I need new switches, but looking for confirmation.
Door is a replacement, hasn't worked properly since the swap. Motor and switch are out of original door. Glass and lifting arms are from the new-to-me used door.
Auto up, drivers window: window runs to top, pauses, and then lowers to about halfway.
This happens regardless of the starting position. The only way to get the window to close is to carefully engage the switch without the auto function. Needless to say, it's annoying and impractical.
Anyone experience this? I can't see any adjustment for window height in the mechanism or anything, as I thought maybe it was running too high and engaging some sort of relay in the motor.

Unless your switch is hanging in the "up postition" and not snapping back at all.....I think the window motor is "out of time",There is a procedure,(not sure about actual procedure,I wrote it down a long time ago)where you run the motor out of the regulator(plugged into harness, using master switch) all the way up,then all the way down, then install it in the regulator. This resets the motor sweep, and sets the top/bottom of the motor's limit switch(inside motor)...But I am sure you need to run the motor outside of regulator up and down untill it stops in each position....something like,up all the way, down all the way..split second up,so you can get bolts back into window.....?
If the motor position is off,one of two things will happen..auto up will stop short of the closed position,or auto up will try to push window past the door upper stop, trying to get to the motor limit switch, but never get there so it continues to try and run "up"...spike the amperage trip of the motor and reverse its direction (down) untill the amperage spike is stopped...safety feature,so the motor does not burn up.
