Non electric speedo on a 95

I looked at the speedometer form my 95 and it has a cable. It isn't electrical as some are. Is this a normal thing. It is an sr5 3.0 with an auto. Any ideas?

Mine is cable. Replaced it recently too cus it was sqealing really bad.

apparently they all went electronic around 93 though i thought.
