Thumbs up Newbie look for a lift. need help

Hey guys,

IM looking for a lift for my 94 toyota regular cab truck. It currently has 32.11.5.15 swamper on it. I would like to run a 33 or 35 but i dont want to get into braking axles like my Grand Cherokee did.

So any sugestion on lifts?

The truck is a beater so the cheaper the lift the better.

Also at what size tires do you start to axle problem.

I also do not want a body lift because im going to use allprooffroad's front bumper which will look strande with a body lift i think.

A lot of folks will tell you that you'll be okay with 33's but that 35's are a stretch when it comes to the front set up. In general the rear should be able to take 35's plus.

The truth of the matter is that it depends on how hard your going to push it and what type of wheeling you do. The harder you wheel the more your going to break up front as the tire size increases.

Cheap suspension lift... is there such a thing? Best price I found on a new kit was on ebay. The seller goes by davy something on ebay, but he is a salesrep for Heckethorn Products in NC (an actual 4x4 retailer), and the product will be shipped from there regular warehouse. He almost always has a Superlift 4inch kit posted for about $530.00 plus actual shipping cost. I just put mine on. It's the real thing but you still need to modify/replace the tie rods, extend brake lines, re-align, and deal with residual issues. I'm about $1,600.00 into mine so far and still have a couple of issues to deal with. (some of that expense was a result of an error on my part, but that happens too.)

Good luck.

thanks for the info... IM not sure what i want to do, the truck is just a beater, it has 201,000 on it and there is not a straight body pannel any more do it accidents, trail damage, and hail storms... I saw in this months Peterson 4wheel drive a super lift for $550.00... Was thinking that and maybe a body lift and run the swamper LTB 34's..... But as it sets now with no lift im running 32's....

Im not real sure if i want to spend the extra money to get the lift... My truck is not worth much anymore..lol... I guess ill go look on e bay..

You have any thought on that Procomp lift...

Most of the yota guys in my area swear by the procomp stage 2. But it's a little more expensive and I understand it take a little more effort to install right. Besides the price - the thing I liked about the superlift kit is the 2, one piece crossmembers. The procomp kits use seperate drop brackets on corners of the LCA's, which tend to lose the alignment much easier then the solid replacement crossmembers (like superlift uses). For me - the superlift just seemed like it would need less recurring maintenance, but I guess it really come down to personal preference and who's opinion you trust. I don't wheel it that often, so I wanted to keep it simple. In this case is simple better/stronger - don't know...
