New shoes for the dance

I just got a set of Yokohama Geolander AT-S from Discount Tires today. I must say these are WAY more quiet than my Geolander AT-II+ on my 87 runner. Yeah I'm sure that the 01 has far better sound deadening but I am pleased with the way it rides.

The new rims are from a 2007 4Runner that I got an amazing deal on, but no center caps. Hit me up w/ a PM if you find any on the cheap for me.
Now for all you picture lovers out there.

And before you say anything the running boards stay until I can get a set of sliders, my little girl relys on them too much to get rid of them before.

Cool. I like my Geolander AT's but as they wear, they are getting louder. Do you know the difference between these and the ones you got?

These are WAY more quite than my Geolander AT-II+

Here is the info that I read before deciding to go with the new AT-S
http://www.yokohamatire.com/TireFeatures.asp?TireID=600
scroll over all the info to the left of the tire for even more info

more info from yokohama http://www.yokohamatire.com/pdf/geoATS.pdf

and the part that really made me do it was the fact that if they are crap there is always this

And the guy at my Discount Tire said he will stand behind that, and he also sais to take them off road and he will still honor that in his own words "they were made for off road, test them off road"

I got a great deal on eBay on the wheels, I think the guy owns a tire/wheel shop or something

Here's a link in case you want to buy from him, this guy really packs the wheels good, all shrink wraped and double card board, no scratches at all. Only bad part is no center caps, well back to eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...9929372&rd=1,1
NOTE: I am in no way connected to this seller, I just think he does a good job.

Oh so the total was
Tires-$546.47 Out the door, He beat Tirerack's price of $599 shiped w/out tire protection. That's a GREAT deal considering I got Mounting+Balance FREE for the life of the tires, FREE flat repairs, FREE road hazard prorate. If you don't have a Discount Tire near you do like I did and drive to one, well worth the fuel

So total wheels and tires $871.47

Wow, not bad. I have been quoted 750 ish for tires around here. I'm going to look for a Discount tire. Thanks. What size did you get?

WHITE SIDE IN!!!

They look like good tires. I've got 265/7-/17's and noticed a drop of 2 mpg.

Mine are out...

Great look Tires and Rims!!

I, myself, would like to get teh 02' Sport Rims like stepdad and put a more highway prone tire for the gass mileage and swtich to the more heavy duty tire when I know I want to go off-road...

The new tires did great on their first day out
So again let me say that my other 4runner has the Geolander AT-II+ and my father-in-law has the BF Goodrich AT on his Titan, I personally think that these new Geolanders are WAY better. They all handle great off road but it's the all around versitility that makes these a notch above the rest.

This run was in Kingman AZ, pretty close to town, if you are local or know the area it's behind Bull Mt.

okay now on th the pics
this is how it started out

Drove up the side of the trail to check things out, the new wheels seem to tuck under nice no rubbing in the rear at all

Rear view, kinda difficult to see under the runner bright day

Front view with the wife inside

Just a pic of the ground clearance

trail started to get a little tight but still had truck tracks

Now there are only ATV tracks, but we kept going

decided it was a good time to teach trail maint. to the little one. Just kidding she was begging to get out and help me move all the rocks.

This next one is actually a very steep hill, notice all the rocks, the Geolanders did a great job getting up this hill without moving all the rocks.
here's the wife taking over, afterall it's her 4Runner

Here she is seeing how far she can push it

No Problem! and no rubbing and no hitting the bumper on the approach

Hope you like the pics. If you are looking for new tires I would say give them a try, theres no reason not to, they come with a 30 free trial from Yokohama so it's dosen't matter who you buy them from.
