sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but would you have to gap something like that? Are the prongs just like 3 prongs of a normal plug?

On a lot of them like this plug you can't gap them. There preset at the factory and are ship with a plastic guarding around the electrode so that if they are dropped in shipment they won't affect the gap.

Actually no they are Zex plugs....82003

They are designed for vehicles equipped with S/C's, Turbos, or Nitrous

Ok here is my initial results on these plugs...Ping is gone...we will see what the future brings, however, at this time it is gone. Bottom end seems a tad stronger, could have to do with just having new plugs though.

As some of you know, I have only been getting about 160 miles to a tank of gas, we will see now if this improves...Also, something a little strange...when removing the factory plugs guess what I noticed...Drivers side and passenger side plugs were different...two different heat ranges, hmmmm

Plugs

My 95 3.0 had the same thing - different plugs on each side of the engine - I even went back and was told that I did a bad thing by not installing teh same type of plugs when I changed them. This was from a "factory trained" Toyota mechanic. I told him that this was the first time the plugs had been changed (22K miles). I never got a "good" answer from anyone on why the plugs were different.

Mike:

I take it you haven't done the TSB for the fuel gauge??

I use to get around 200 miles before having to fill-up before and now goes about 280. Even thought the tank obviously doesn't hold anymore, it sure fells nice not having to add fuel every couple days.

Mike:

It's actually the fuel sending unit that is bad on the 3rd gens. The fuel gauge doesn't read the correct fuel level in the tank therefore when your fuel light comes on, you actually have 4-5 gallons still in the tank. Plus, once the sending unit is replaced the gauge stays on FULL alot longer.
