New Owner
Hey everyone.
Just before christmas, my wife and I bought a 2000 4Runner. I've not owned a Toyota product before and I gotta say I'm really impressed. This is, by several steps, the best vehicle I've ever owned. Maybe that's not saying alot because the only other "new" vehicle I've owned is a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon. (A good car, I drive it every day to work, but it just doesn't compare) All my other cars have been 10-20 years old. Anyway, I took the truck yesterday and went skiing. It's about 110 miles one way on secondary roads. Very comfortable ride, excellent handling, precise steering and plenty of power. I also took it off-road for a short bit about a week ago.
Generallly speaking I'm very pleased. I guess you all have known that 4Runners are great for a long time, but its new to me so I just wanted to share my enthusiasm.
The details:
2000 4Runner SR5, V6, 5speed, Power and Sport Packages, Millenium silver outside, a grey-blue inside, 45000 miles.

Welcome to the forum John.
Glad you are liking the quality built into a Toyota.
I'm on my 3rd one now, and I bought this one used.
Bought my 2nd one new in '90.
They seem to run very well, and are pretty for the most part, trouble free if you take care of them.
I was going to say you must have gone skiing up at Crystal, but for the amount of miles you drove, it was probably Steven's pass?
Not to far from you if you head up highway 410 just past Greenwater is where a lot of us get together and roam around the forest roads up there and trails.
I have been going up to FS road 70 about 15 years now, and have not seen everything up there.
It's huge, and a nice place to take your rig off road and get some nice scenery in.
Check out the Off Road forum here for some past pics & vids of some of the Greenwater runs we have gone on if you get the chance.

Corey- my friend brian and I went to Whitepass. Its about the same distance as Crystal. I'm so lucky to have 2 great ski places close-by. I did notice there is an abundence of forest roads down that way.
The mod bug has already bitten, but I will have to resist for a while, I have 10 days vacation in Feb that I plan on going skiing. Any 'extra' money I have is going into savings for that.

Welcome
Welcome aboard. 3rd Gen 4R's are terrific vehicles. I've owned my 2nd Gen '93 for 8 years (2nd Owner) and will keep it until it's time to make it a dedicated trail rig...

Nice. Mine's been nothing to brag about lately. It's hovering between 14 & 15 mpg city these days and I've tried all the simple things to improve fuel economy up to now. I hope it's not the MAF or O2 sensors getting old that's causing it. Oh well..
