New Mods added!!!

Well this weekend I drove down to Austin, TX to perform one of the most biggest mods yet. I've added a Rockware front bumper, Warn HS9500i, SAWS, Nuke Disco's, Rockware Skid Plate, and braided front brake lines. I would just like to take a moment to thank (Ishikawa) Max, Eddie, Ronnie, and all of the other people from Longhorn Offroad. Without their help none of this would have been accomplished.

You can view the new pics HERE

Lookin' good there Mr. Data
Having that stuff up on front of the rig gives you a nice warm feeling when you head out into the outback.

They did a great job. Are you going to run the stock steel cable, or end up going with plasma rope like I did?

It will save you a little weight, plus it won't kink or fray on you either.

Steve will be proud of the SAW's you put on.

I was actually thinking about switching out the cable. How much did you purchase yours for? What makes them better??

I paid about $275 I think delivered to my door.
That is also with a yellow hook, and some sheath guard.

Look in the Gear section too. Matt has a write-up on the Rockstomper plasma rope.
The ropes are all about the same, it a special type of sea going tub boat rope made to be out in the weather.

I have lots of info on this stuff on page III of my mods section.
Also a good article by Randy Burleson of ODW.

Steel cable can get snags on it that can rip your skin open if you are not careful. Plus it kinks. Look on Rockstompers website at a few pics.
Can't happen with the plasma rope.
The above URL on my page has a few links to some good reads on the stuff.
This is where I bought mine from:

Damn it's taken me 5 years to get to where I am now with my rig and you just blew by me in a couple months! Aargh I just have too many other priorities I guess. So when are we goin wheelin? I'm sure Max told you about Barnwell Mtn., also I saw something awhile back on the web about an ORV place near Hot Springs. Time to put that gear to use (you can use the winch on me since I'm still quite a ways off from my regear/lockers ).

Did you get most of that gear from Max's old rig?

Yeah I think I got all of it except the rear bumper! Where did you find out about Hot Springs at? I haven't seen anything about it. Maybe I'll have to check it out. I heard they had some kind of Jeep Jamboree down there, but I didn't know where at.

Damn! Your ride looks rough, great job man. Makes me really want to get the ARB bumper and a winch. No wait, I'm broke...just remembered. *sigh*
