Smile New member...Intro / a question

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new to this forum. I'm from LA California and own a 3rd gen 97 4runner. And i'm really into burning cash$$$ for my 4runner. Anyways just wanted to sorta introduce myself....but u probably be more interested in my runner....so here's some pics

I also have a question today....

I'm looking at getting these Hella Optilux driving/fog lights. Got a $50 gift certificate for xmas.
http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jht...179814&BQ=jcw2

Does anyone have something similar to this? Is the installation very involved? I'm not sure how to wire the switch up to the front panel....and also where the best place on bumper to place these puppies. Thanks

Welcome

Haven't seen those lights before - they look pretty sweet. I don't have a 3G, so I'm not much help. Maybe in bottom opening of the valence?

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum. You'll like it here!

hehe sorry couldn't resist, I love Spaceballs

Anyway I'm not quite sure where you should mount the lights, I like Cebby's idea.

I just wanted to welcome you to the best Toyota Forum (or any forum for that matter) around Enjoy your stay, and say goodbye to your wallet

Welcome to the forum Mog.
I'm sure with the collective heads here, you'll get an idea of how to mount those pups.

Hey, ditch the switch that came with those.
See my link here on how to use the Toyota factory switch for a clean installation.

Only three wires for the switch, and it should work with any set of lights.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. BTW my nick Mog is actually from the RPG game Final Fantasy. The little white moogle if any of you ever played that game. But I never knew it was the name of that man dog from Spaceball I'm about to order the fog lights. It's actually a dual driving/fog lighting system that I'm getting. I drive alot of freeway so I really want to be able to see farther. Thanks for all the help...I'll be needing some more when i get the part!

Hey welcome to the board, it's great to have another 2WD, sorry it's some kind of weird thing I have to not be the only suffering from "4WD Envy".

You got a sweet Runner there man, and I love those lights you were looking at, I have wanted to get those things for awhile now. I think I will get them very soon along with some new floor mats. Let me know how the install goes, maybe you can help me out after your done and I run into some issues.

Welcome once again, make yourself at home and stick around for awhile.
