New horn
Hey guys i found a new horn at autozone and have considered buying it. It is called air trumpets and i think hella makes em. Ive tried searching because i remember a post about this a while back but couldnt find anything on horns. What i was wanting to know is if anyone has these. And are they loud, easy to hook up, and are they good quality. Thanks guys.
Oh ya and if anyone can find the link to that old thread could you please post it.

yeah that is true, the search has been kaput for a few days.
the fiamm's is probably what you are thinking about. corey and skyrat have them and then a bunch of us did the same. i have them too and they are much louder and have more 'authority' than my previous hella supertones which sound a little BMW-ish (but still loud).

If you want the full effect don’t use stock wiring. Stock horns are in the area of 3amps, and the very average compressor(s) I got drained upward of 20amps. You'll have a considerable voltage drop and delay using stock wiring.
Wire up at least 12 gauge from the battery and trip a relay with the stock wiring.

Only if you don't care about your hearing.
I believe there is a special way to wire them up, because toyota's horns are always live, and when you press the button, you are grounding it. By mounting the horns you are grounding it and supplying a hot wire... Unless these horns don't ground when you mount them.

I have them hooked up to my stock wiring with one of the two stock horns still intact (as back up). I love em. Dont get trigger happy though, you just might cause a heart attack.

I'm pretty sure I had the exact hella horns you are talking about. They are definitely better than the stock "meep meep" sound, but they are too high pitched for me. The volume was nice though. I bought a set of wolo powerhouse airhorns on ebay. Very happy with these puppies.

Here's how to wire it up...
the relay (which should be included with the horns) will have 4 posts. they are labled 30,85,86,87. There may be one other post, but you don't use it.
post 30 connects to the positive terminal on your battery. use 12 gauge wire or better with an inline fuse within 3ft of the battery.
post 85 goes to ground.
post 86 connects to the wire that ran to your old horn.
post 87 connects to the positive post on the air compressor.
ground the negative terminal on the compressor. mount your horns and connect the air hose to the compressor and horns.
that's about it. it's a quick writeup. i can go into more detail if you need. i'm here to help.
