Go to www.edmunds.com and look up it up on their TMV (True Market Value) calculator. It will be even lower than KBB. Use that price as leverage when dealing.

That's a good price compared to what I've seen in my neck of the woods - 4Rs here have a high resale value for some reason. I'd plunk down $9.5k in a heartbeat if that baby were here.

Values do vary in different regions of the US. I looked up NADA for your area and it shows average retail of $12,050 and average trade-in of 9775 (Edmonds showed around $10,545 & 6669). Most lenders use NADA and will generally loan up to average retail (more if you are highly qualified). $9880 OBO does not sound too far off. If your mechanic gives it a clean bill o health I would show them the Edmonds info and shoot them an offer.

Probably is a great truck. Definitely go see it. Since it is a CA truck, probably little/no rust..check it out. At 132K, I would want to make sure that the rear locker still works properly. If the truck has never been offroad in CA, I doubt the locker has ever been engaged. Also, at that mileage, I would double check axle seals (any weeping at the rear brakes? Does it pull to one side when braking hard?). Double check the front transaxle boots - any tears or leaking?

Good luck!

If you want it for a long-term vehicle don't even consider it unless they have proof of maintenance and the repair history. Even with a Toyota, you are playing roulette without maintenance records.

Trust me, I have owned 5 of these things.
