hey all --

in a 3rd gen '01 SR5 4Runner....

i'm looking to add a TJM bumper...

--don't need lift for 285 tires
--don't plan to add a winch
--have a wilderness rack on the roof now
--will probably add sliders in the future

i don't think i need the SAWs ( and don't want to have to rebuild them every now and then anyways)..

i'm looking for a simple solution ( using just OME coils & shocks) to give me better suspension to offset
the weight of the bumper ( and future sliders)... to prevent sagging, to give better handling in general...

any suggestions? which shock/coil to get ?

 

If you don't plan to add a winch, or go big tires, that means you probably don't do hardcore wheelin, so y spend the money on a tjm? Just wondering.

I would reccommend maybe the OME 882's up front if you have the bumper already on, then when it starts to sag you can add in a 1" cornfed spacer. And firm shocks

But really everyone would suggest an adjustable coil-over up front.

 

A, do what toyo said and get a spacer. B, do a body lift and live with the rear being a little taller than the front. C find used adjustable coilovers like I did

 

Any reason for the 882's. Thats really pushing the max 2 1/2 inch limit. Plus it will stiffen up the ride way too much.

Since your not putting on all that weight (winch etc) I would just go with OME 880's or 881's max. Even with spacers your ride won't suffer as much.
