My truck got smashed **lots of pics**

Well i just got home from one of the worst days i've had in a long time. I had just gotten off work and decided that it was about time to get the truck washed and I didn't really have time to do it myself, so i decided to run to the local car wash and have it done real quick. I paid the cashier and walked inside and waited for them to pull it into the line to get washed. Well here is where the fun begins. I'm looking out the back of the car wash when to my utter surprise here comes a black streak from under the canopy. That black streak was my Runner moving around what seemed to be about 10-15 mph and then straight into a brick building that they use for waxing vehicles. I sprinted out the back of the building before the guy even got out of my truck. Somehow I didn't punch him in the mouth, but i have said words that haven't come out of my mouth in a long long time. Luckily I had the TJM on there as it was probably the only reason the truck wasn't totaled, but it's still pretty bad. the building got almost as much damage as my truck as he just about went through it. It looks as if everything will turn out ok, the owner was super nice and took care of the problem and got me a rental car within the hour. I'm still in a state of "I can't believe that just effing happened". I don't really know what else to say so on to the pics....

And the damage to the building, check out the crack through the door frame!!

Holy smokes. At least you didn't do it and someone will take accountability. You just got the TJM recently. This may make others reconsider getting one as well.

Anyway, have a good weekend...

Well to tell you the truth i'm not really sure what happened. I have a 5speed and I think he may not have known how to drive one and popped the clutch and off he went. That is the only thing that makes sense in my mind. Like I said all i saw was it plow straight into the building, and the guy that did it apparently ran away in fear as he was nowhere to be found after it happened.

What the hell was he smokin'?
You can bet he will be fired.

Sorry to hear this, I never ever let anyone drive my rigs, unless it is the dealer taking it into a service bay.

I would get it checked out for frame damage.
Yes, the beef up front saved your rig from a lot more damage.

Duuuude! Noooo! That really sucks! Oh my gosh, that TJM is one strong mother! LOL!

Seriously, you should contact TJM on that one.

Sounds like the owner is going to take care of you. He should have secondary insurance for this type of thing.

I have to agree with Corey on this one. No one drives my rig either!

Also, isn't that illegal for the dude to take off like that?

Yeah that bumper held up great. I don't usually let anyone drive my rig either but it wasn't like he was taking this thing into rush hour traffic, he only had to move it about 20 feet to the car wash bay, but i guess i expect too much out of people I don't really know where to go from here, i mean i custom made that grill and had the bumper modified which cost money and I'm not sure if i'll be able to recoup the money i spent, i know i can't recoup the time and sweat i put into it. I wish i could just score a winch out of the deal or something, for me being out my truck for a few weeks, but that's probably asking too much From what i can tell right off hand the bumper, grill, hood, at least the left fender and headlight will have to be replaced. I'm not sure if anything in the engine bay was hurt as i couldn't get the hood open. The fender flares will have to replaced which means since they are Bushwakers they'll have to order an entire new set of those, because you can't get just single pieces from them. We'll see i'll keep you guys posted.

wow man, what a moron. seems like you're taking it OK though. i would definitely send the pic of the wall into TJM and show them what they have conquered.

is the bumper ruined? it looks as if just the brackets got bent and/or squished? i wonder if you could just get some new brackets from steve and it would sit level?

good luck

So, have they talked to the guy yet?

If it were me, I would kick his ass, and then my dad would kick my ass, and his ass. Needless to say, there would be a lot of ass kicking.

I think that is fair.
Now the vehicle has been wrecked, the value has dropped. An M8000 will even it up
