I used to work for Intel, I had to train managers that worked at best buy,and Circuit City so every weekend I would drive my 1 hour 40 min drive from Greenville down there and my RUNNER would get dirty So I NATURALLY, almost 2 hours from home started looking for a DETAIL SHOP and Two notch was my last stop that perticular weekend.
Jonathan I almost went to this place, instead I went back to Lexington to see friends and found a detail shop there. THANK God
I did not pull in there, theres no telling what i would have done.

Just an update! Got the estimate and it looks like the jackhole has caused at least $3200 worth of damage to the front of my rig. Grill, hood, headlights, bumper, left fender all will have to be fixed, plus minor things here and there. Hopefully the insurance company will just right me a big ole fat check and i'll be on my way to ordering new parts, and hopefully save enough money for my troubles. I'll keep you guys up to date. Wish me luck and cross your fingers that they just give ME the money in hand.

Ad campaign: "TJM Bumpers.... if you're gonna go, take the building down with you"
Sorry to see your rig all busted. Hope you can come away with that new winch

WOW!! At least the owner is getting everything fixed and got you the rental. Is there a reason the airbag didnt go off? Because if there is a problem with it and you got into a wreck you may not be so lucky next time. This may be your "freebie" if you will.

airbags aren't designed to go off until you are in a severe frontal crash. this was not severe.
severe means snaping engine mounts, distortion of the frame, crumpling of passenger compartment, etc. probably an impact speed of 40+ MPH. this was more like 15-20 MPH impact.

"Frontal air bags are generally designed to deploy in "moderate to severe" frontal or near-frontal crashes, that is, crashes that are equivalent to hitting a solid, fixed barrier at 8 to 14 mph or higher. This would also be equivalent to striking a parked car of similar size at about 16 to 28 mph or higher."

lol... i stand corrected. i've had a 16-28 MPH strike on a broadside car w/ a stock bumper and they didn't go off. i was probably doing around 30-35 at impact in my old 2WD runner and hit a G35 on the passenger rear wheel that pulled out in front of me.
those numbers seem low - possibly for cars...

All the poop on airbags...very informative.

It all depends on what your "crash sensor" reads as to whether or not your airbags deploy.
