my 4runner is dead!!! Help!

I've got a 94 4runner V6, and this is what its doing.

I have no accessory (interior) electricity. Period.

I can't turn it over (no noise whatsoever when I turn the key). I have no clock, no radio, no power locks, no windows. Headlights work.

If I push start it the engine starts, but the above things still don't work. Gauges dont work either I think (showing no amps from alternator). Engine itself purrs nicely, drove it around block.

Battery is new optima and has full juice. Battery connections are good. Under-hood fuses are all good.

help!!!

I'd be looking real hard at your Key Switch and the connector. The lights bypass the switch.

Do the interior lights work?

If so, then I'd bet that it's a relay under the hood.

Check your main fuses (fusable links)...start testing power at your battery and work back until you no longer show voltage. Easy as that.

Talking

thanks guys, I figured it out.

I had a feeling it was the fuses, so I started checking them with my circuit tester and found my 40-amp fuse wouldn't close the circiut, and it was blown way off to the side (couldn't see it until I broke it apart).

Yay
