Question MV-12s to go with my Downey 1.5s?

I'm sold -- I got enough positive feedback that I'm going to order the Downey 1.5HD coils for my Runner. Yahoo! I was considering replacing the shocks, as long as I'm in there (they're original), and Downey suggests 9" DoetschTech MV-12s. They say that they will improve my ride both on and off road -- that for strictly on road the stock shocks are fine, but stock shocks will limit the full extension of the spring off road. (Bear with me, I'm learnin'!) I saw some older posts where there was trouble dealing with the DoetschTech folks, but that wasn't with these shocks. Anyone want to chime in with their $0.02 worth? Thanks.

Go with Old Man Emu shocks... I just got mine put on last night, and even without having the OME coils in yet, they ride awesome. Not too pricey, either, and you know you can trust OME/ARB.

Thanks, I'll check 'em out!

Let me know what you find out Bert, I need to do this as well.
If the price is right.

You gonna remove the running boards before Tellico ?

4mydogs,

PAhydrohead is removing his Downey HD Coils and replacing them with
the cruiser coils. You ordered yet ?
I've inquired about purchasing them but was thinking about you
needing a set. He will PM me when
he gets done with the swap - I think the swap is in progress now.

I am hoping to have first dibs.

Doc, they're all yours -- I already ordered the coils, but thanks. I'm trying to decide about the shocks before we tear into it. I thought you already had the Downey HDs on your Runner?
My running boards? I dunno . . . I kinda like 'em.

I do have the Downey Coils already, I've not purchased them yet
but was thinking about you when I asked. They won't last long posted on the board anyway. Just thought that we might save you some money.

The running boards are great but you do not want to wheel with them on there - especially at Tellico. They will hang on rocks and get bent all to hell.

I do need to replace my shocks - they are the ones that were on there when I bought the runner. They ride good but I suspect that they limit my Downey coils. Have a great day !!!

The OME N98 (front) and N72F (rear) are long-travel shocks, and I got mine from www.davesport.com and there's a few other places that sell them, for ~$70-72 bucks a pop.
