Motor Mounts

I did some searching and can't seem to find anyone who makes poly motor/trans mounts for the 1st gen Tacos (i'm a V6). I don't really want to go with solid mounts due to the fact that they translate a lot of vibration and harshness into the cab.

If anyone has any info on where I could purchase a set of poly motor/trans mounts that would be great!

Thank you,

-Brian

Can I ask why you're looking for better motor mounts? Do they need replacing or are you worried about the power of the supercharger being there?

Stock works just fine.

Good question.

The stock motor mounts are beginning to show signs of deterioration (small cracks in the rubber). Also, when all is said and done, I will be in the neighborhood of 300hp. I would like as much of that power as possible to be transferred to the wheels of the truck and not the rocking motion of the motor. That is over a 50% increase in power over the stock 5VZ-FE. Hence the desire for the poly mounts.

That looks like a factory replacement, i'm looking for a poly mount such as the same material that Energy Suspension uses for their stuff.

Don't know if these will work for you but they do list a V6, are you a 3.4 or 3.0? Email him, maybe they'll still work or maybe he can make you some.

Thank you for the link. I am a 3.4L V6. I believe those are the solid motor mounts, basically i'm looking for the poly inserts to replace the factory bushings.

Trailgear.com has a set of after market motor mounts, never used them or know anyone that has but something that you could look into

i wouldn't worry about it. I ran more power than that on a 67 mustang with stock motor mounts, and it barely flexed on downshift / WOT

Those are the solid "bomb proof" mounts. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Don't get me wrong, this isn't something where I wouldn't run the truck if I didn't have them type of deal. Just looking for a way to put power down easier without fighting the engine rocking.

And regarding the mustang, you have to remember that chassis was built to handle more power and I am willing to bet those motor mounts were a lot stronger than the stock 5VZ-FE mounts.
