What is the max hitch weight on the factory 3rd gen hitch? ( I no longer have mine)


Anyone here ever towed a trailer with a 3rd gen with a hitch weight around 400 lbs?

 

It should say on the rim of the hitch reciever.

if its the factory hitch, its class 2 or 3, 3 is the most common with a max tongue weight of 350 pounds

That's a good idea, duh. As far as looking on the hitch, I don't have mine, I sold it. I was thinking it was class 3 and 500 pounds though.

 

500 if there is a load distributing hitch attachemnt for the trailer if not, the max is 350

 

OK, thanks. I'm looking at a new camper-between 3 different models, one has a hitch weight of 205, one at 275, and one at 365, add two full propane tanks of gas to that also. Of course, my wife and I like the 365 lb one best.
